One. One. One. One. One… One composer, One conductor, One orchestra. One year of ‘Latvija’ concert hall.
The concert-performance "One" is a journey in the concert hall and composer Darius Milhaud’s music. Each person is invited to experience an intimate dialogue with each chamber orchestra instrument separately, as well as to unite in a common musical experience, with the Six small symphonies of the composer performed by the orchestra in the Great Hall of the concert hall.
One instrument. The concert hall experiences all six Little Symphonies by Darius Milhaud as a joint body. There are 21 station altogether. And each spectaror visits 6 stations. At each station they hear one of the symphonies through one instrument.
The listeners are welcome to listen to the voice of that One instrument! To see how beautiful it is, how important, how simple or complicated. What is the importance of the voice of an individual? Will we be able to point it out in a crowd after having met it in person? Will it still guide us? Will we want to find it? Or maybe it will become as One with all the others?
